Our drive
Hopefully he drove the tractor on the drive not the grass!Only the lamps are there as markers.
A pair near the bottom shelter.
Both are pretty dry so must have only just come out.Shame they weren't in a better place for a pic as coloureds stand out against the snow.
Two herds
This is part of the Deer Park and there are no fresh tracks, so the horses have divided into two herds one in each barn. It would be hard work walking through over a foot of snow uphill so it makes sense, as there is a shelter at the top and bottom.
retired ponies
Charlie aged 36 is the mini shetland, he has access to ad lib haylage as you can tell by his belly!
Out of the wind
They become very clever living here, and can find all manner of places out of the wind. This is behind the big shelter and has trees for cover too.
Watching the tractor
This chap isn't daft, he is hanging round ready to grab the haylage bale as it passes on the tractor.
Will you hurry up!
Two of the youngsters shut out of the barn whilst the bales get replenished, there is a sort of iron framework we close but they still would squeeze in if they could.
Bottom shelter
Annoyingly the wind direction has blown snow into over half of the space,. but as you can see the older ones have found dry places to stand.
Half brothers
Jasper and Leo both have the same dam and are very much an item.Leo seen following his big brother off into that white stuff..
