Daisy three weeks' on

She is filling out slowly but doesn't look as if she should foal in a month's time does she!

My next year's Christmas card!

This is Harper's Bornival the stallion in the snow, it's misleading as he spent all his time watching the people in the house willing us to go out and put him back in his nice dry and warm stable!

the view from the garden room

Spoiled at the moment because all the kitchen orchids have been moved in prior to ripping out the kitchen, but they aren't doing very well...
It's still a fantastic place to sit and watch the wildlife, I have binoculars and can see deer on the opposite hill.

OOps!

As you can see from the scaffolding, this is a new roof.
The builder called for his money and saw it and said "Stronger screws I reckon!"
The weight of that lot just pinged the guttering straight off.

This is cloud rolling in along the valley below the farm.

Our drive

Hopefully he drove the tractor on the drive not the grass!
Only the lamps are there as markers.

Lane outside our farm.

A pair near the bottom shelter.

Both are pretty dry so must have only just come out.
Shame they weren't in a better place for a pic as coloureds stand out against the snow.

Two herds

This is part of the Deer Park and there are no fresh tracks, so the horses have divided into two herds one in each barn. It would be hard work walking through over a foot of snow uphill so it makes sense, as there is a shelter at the top and bottom.

Not even wet backs!

This lot have obviously sat out the storm undercover, as they are all dry!

retired ponies

Charlie aged 36 is the mini shetland, he has access to ad lib haylage as you can tell by his belly!
Posted by Picasa

Out of the wind

They become very clever living here, and can find all manner of places out of the wind. This is behind the big shelter and has trees for cover too.

Watching the tractor

This chap isn't daft, he is hanging round ready to grab the haylage bale as it passes on the tractor.
