Lucy was quite nervous for ages but has suddenly decided she wants to be friends, this happens every day, she spot you and comes over for a quick cuddle..
A tractor is vital
With 30 plus to feed we have to use big bales, at the moment they are eating a huge amount.
Teddy bear coats
This filly is warmblood x TB with a dash of ID, as you can see being born here makes them grow huge coats for protection in winter making rugs unecessary for many.
It may not be the most palatial of barns
But it's lovely and warm and lots of grub.Three of the youngsters tucking in.
William
William and his friend Isabella, he too is a dab hand at wrecking rugs and is on his second, but as most of him is covered I'm holding off until he grows a bit more.He seems totally normal regarding after effects of his illness, has grown well and is bigger than some a year older, fingers' crossed he has an uneventful life from now on.
Snow horses
Three of the babies, Galaxy is such a lazy devil, she's using another as a head rest!The gelding in the background is on his third rug this year, he walks under trees until they rip..

The three dark bays are all Chocolate babies, the grey in the foreground is Harmony one of the brood mares.

High Dartmoor gets much worse snow than us, if you look you can see in the distance the High Moor.
We lose heat through our needing repair roof.
We really haven't had much snow but the roof illustrates how inefficient our roof really is, the bit in the middle has tons of insulation and is brand new, the rest is busy heating the sky...

Daisy
This is our new broodmare, she has evented successfully and bred one nice foal.She's 16.2 hh, 12 years by Cruising.
She appears to have settled in really happily, and is the sweetest natured mare.
we can't wait to have some foals from her.

Rene
Poor Rene, he's been picked up, put down etc as whenever time got short he got turned away, but now is in work ready to sell. He is a smashing little horse who will get a low clip next week and after he has started popping a few fences will be advertised for sale.This is after very little work, he's naturally well balanced and very forward going as you can see. (also very sweaty!)
What not to do to your woodburner...
Pile it with enormous pieces of coal and wander off forgetting to turn it down..I think I may have bent the new baffle plate..oops!
Jacques and Jasper
The gelding on the left 's dam is by the sire of the one on the right...so related but don't ask me how!
Early days
This is Jasper who is four and has been ridden a few weeks, he's growing like a weed and will look better with more weight and muscle. P has started riding him and seems to be enjoying him, he's incedibly laid back and nothing appears to scare him.
