Plans..
the island is my next project, the cypress tree has died it's too wet for it, so the plan now is to cover the island with azaleas and give it plenty of spring colour.
Monet bridge.
I'm still getting round to painting this bridge dark red like a japanese garden, but for now it remains dirty blue!
the wild orchard
this is a bit of a muddled garden, in here are fruit trees, raspberries, redcurrants (damned birds usually feast on those) black currants and some young trees of plum and cherry that haven't fruited much as yet.The mallow pictured was just a branch that sprouted on it's own from the rubbish.
our water jump!
best jumped off the car park it introduces the young horses to water on home ground. the pond is around a foot deep at this point and after a few sticky starts they leap in with a massive splash and power through both ways.
Almost tropical
You wouldn't expect some ofthe things that grow her to survive, last year I grew luscious peaches and we always have grapes in late summer.

I did plant one on both sides but one died, so am about to try another variety.
William 2008
He's going through a growth spurt and the bad weather last month took lots of flesh off all the babies, but he is looking as if he will be a smashing horse in future.

This is my favourite pic of the event, showing the power and scope this horse has even when controlled; he ended up 2nd which for his second PN was a good result.He is being taken slowly as he's too good to rush.

this horse jumps just like his grand-dam our foundation mare, and loves the show jumping phase. It's rare for him to have any down!

After a 22 dressage score the pressure was on, he rolled a pole which relegated him to 5th in the Pre Novice.

hHe ended up 12th, this was his first comp since last year, and was a bit flat in his dressage phase.

Leo
As you can see this foal's legs aren't correct. his check ligament is too tight on one leg and only a little better on the other one.He is on a month's restricted movement so is stabled with his dam, who is also on restricted food (ad lib old hay)
The vet will rasp his hooves as often as he can to try and get him to stop appearing on tip toe.
If this doesn't work vet will treat him to help the muscles relax.
We are massaging the legs as many times a day as we can, he's a good foal and never makes a fuss about it.
