Prince and his Mrs...always together.

Dartan

Andalucian who has totally changed personality since he reitred here. He used to be a Spanish army mount and was handy with his teeth and heels. Now he licks your face though none of us ever totally trust him when he does that!

Zac

This horse is 17.2 hh and eats a huge amount of food. He has wintered better this year as he's learned to spend most of his time stuffing his face..

Caspian

A former endurance arab, he's wintered out well.

Caught in the act!

Solstice, one of Chocolate's daughters rising three.

Raff, a retired riding school horse.

It's easy to waste time gazing at the view here..

There be monsters in our field..

Posted by Picasa

hiding behind the black and white bum...

yes, It's Charlie...luckily there isn't much grass to speak of so he's ok wandering round for now.

Jezebel, Rene, Duzzit (livery) and Izzy.

You could hear the hounds!

Posted by Picasa

Tread carefully..

It's difficult to avoid them when virtually the whole field is covered with primroses.

Primrose Hill

This is my favourite place on the whole farm, once you go through this old gate there is a secret wood on the right full of primroses then bluebells, a little stream waterfalls through it, and the area has been untouched for many years.
The views are constantly changing, today the local Hunt were on the hillside opposite, the hound music carried on the breeze, a buzzard was floating on the air currents (poor lad he is mateless after his partner died) and the baby rabbits were hooping about un-afraid because they see few humans.
I spent ages just leaning on the gate admiring the view, and feeling grateful I live here.
